- This
project involved widening of 600m carriageway within a very restricted
area.
- Protecting,
working around and finally diverting numerous, highly sensitive
WPD, BT and NTL apparatus.
- The
works also required the extension of two culverts and earthworks
to widen cuttings and embankments.
- Traffic
Management was a key issue as there were serious concerns about
congestion and tailbacks, particularly onto the A470.
- We
liaised with local residents regularly through letter drops keeping
them informed of key events and progress of the works.
- Widen
the road carriageways on the Penrhos roundabout to provide for
four lanes of traffic on the A468 Northbound approach.
- The
works also involved considerable alterations to drainage and renewing
the streetlighting and road signs.
- There
were also some associated works on the B4600 Nantgarw Road towards
Caerphilly, which involved provision of a footpath and a signal
controlled crossing.
