- The
contract was to reclaim from the estuary and prepare for residential
development 4.5 hectares extending into the impounded water of
Cardiff Bay.

The completion of a partially constructed stone bund reinforced
with geogrids, some 450m long.

The importation of 230,000m3 of common fill recycled hardcore
and quarried stone to raise the level of the reclaimed land above
the potential flood level.
- The
installation of some 12,000 band drains to help the consolidation
of the underlying alluvium.

Extensive monitoring of the ground and bund levels.

The whole of the Scheme was carried out in environmentally sensitive
conditions.

The client is developing the site for 650 houses and apartments.
